So a month or so ago, I stumbled upon (on the Internet) a hotel in Brussels called, Pantone Hotel. Its’s every graphic designer and interior designers dream place to go to. Each room is designed with the colors from the pantone color wheel, and a little legend is on the side of the wall to let you know the colors used in the room.

Its has that very sleek, minimalist look to it, as with many european hotels. This hotel comes with Free Wi-fi, Flat screen TV, meeting/conference room.

Whenever I have the opportunity to again travel to Europe, I would love to go to Brussels and stay a night or two at this Hotel to be inspired and dream in color.

How many of us remember our 21st b-day (who have already celebrated one)? Was is it the best night of your life? Do you regret it?

My 21st b-day, I worked…a closing shift at that. But I got to celebrate it with my friends and enjoy a nasty drink, which I have never ordered again. Very low key and spent with my closets friends.

Do you wish that you could have spent your 21st b-day enjoying it for 21 days doing someone amazing things? Well one wonderful young woman I know did. You might remember her from the Artist of the week on here or showcased in the first issue of HiddenYou e-zine. Her name is Nikki Yeager, and she is doing “21 days of my 21st”.

Here is just a snip-it of what she has in store for herself…

  1. Learn to skateboard
  2. Skeet shooting
  3. Learn to surf.
  4. Jetski.
  5. Skydive.
  6. Brazillian Wax.
  7. Try Kambucha and Aloe tea.
  8. Ride in a helicopter.
  9. Be on tv.
  10. Fly a plane.

Please go to her website http://www.nikkiyeager.com/apps/blog/ and read about her adventures and check out the videos. Hey if you want to help her out with some of her goals leave her some love on her page.

She inspired me to want to try to do something cool for my bday!

all the best,

Latia

Art Eat-Up is a food, drink and entertainment event with a twist; for a small donation, guests eat a delicious meal, enjoy good company and musical entertainment, and vote for the most worthy art proposal on the menu that night. All profits collected go to the winning artists to realize their project, which will be displayed at the next Art Eat-Up event. It is a great way to network, meet new people, have fun and provide support for a local art project. Art Eat-Up provides individual grants for artists, connects artists to each other and to the greater community and promotes the artistic livelihood of our community.

The event is on:

March 13th, 2010 6-9pm

@ Villa Borinquen,

396 Manilla Avenue (corner of 2nd street)

1st floor event space, Jersey City, NJ

Hello Everyone,

Nikki Yeager a talented artist based in New York has created a new work of art. It is about the genocide that took place in Cambodia.

She explains what her painting means to her and gives a brief history lesson about what occurred during the years of 1975-1979 that many Americans never heard of.

Please go to her site and check out the artwork and read the brief blog she posted, and make sure to leave a comment and tell her what you think about her work.

She is featured in my free e-zine (download it if you haven’t already) and is also a Featured artist here on HiddenYou

Recently you will see in advertisement or in some sort of design project people are using torn paper edges.

I found a website that has several free torn paper edges. Check it out and explore the possibilities of using these brushes.

Maybe if you are having a creative block this can help you out, by trying something new.

I am very excited that I will be attending the cut and paste event this saturday in New York, and will do a follow up write up about it on here.
This should be so much fun. If your not doing anything and live close to New York I think you should go.
A great way to spend your Saturday around fellow creatives.
I am driving up there with my boyfriend–who after showing the video was so interested and wanted to go along.
Here is the information!

Hope to see some of you out there.

Remember it’s a great way to network!

All the best,

Latia

  • Asma: wonderful share thanks it will help me with photoshop
  • Gina: It's disgusting. I won't even watch the video... I'd likely be scarred. She should be tracked down and prosecuted. Make an example of her. She loo
  • Shari: So pretty and inspirational! I LOVE the idea of living and dreaming in color - sometimes that vibrancy can truly light up the world :-)
